Practical hire arrangements
Excavator delivery and pickup
Delivery is the usual option where practical. Approved customer collection may also be available by appointment, depending on the machine, hire location and confirmed transport arrangement.
Delivery and collection
Delivery and collection are available for $150 within approximately 20 km where applicable. Longer-distance delivery can be quoted individually. Tell us the job location when you call or SMS so we can confirm the delivery window, access and the right machine for the job.
For delivered hires, Digger2Hire normally retains the plant trailer unless otherwise agreed beforehand. This keeps the handover straightforward and avoids the need for you to tow the machine during the hire.
Customer collection
Approved customer collection may be available by appointment from the collection point for your selected hire location. The trailer supplied and towing requirements depend on the confirmed machine and transport arrangement.
- A suitable tow vehicle with the required towing capacity
- A working electric brake controller where required for the confirmed trailer
- A current full open driver licence
- Your physical driver licence shown at handover
We will confirm the vehicle, licence, trailer and collection arrangement before the booking is finalised.
Flexible timing
More useful hire time. No standard 4pm depot deadline.
Digger2Hire does not operate around a fixed standard depot closing time. We agree the delivery, customer return or Digger2Hire collection time with you when the hire is confirmed.
Where practical and agreed beforehand, delivery or collection can be arranged outside normal business hours. That means you are not forced to stop work early simply to meet a conventional depot return deadline.
After-hours calls are welcome. If the job runs longer or the agreed return or collection arrangement needs to change, contact Frank or Rick before the agreed time. The confirmed hire period still applies. Extending that period may affect the total price depending on the situation.
Collection locations
Brisbane: approved customer collection is from Morningside by appointment.
Northern Rivers & Tweed: approved customer collection is from Tweed Heads by appointment.
Collection suitability is confirmed before the hire. Some machines may be better suited to delivery because of machine weight, trailer requirements or the towing setup needed.
A straightforward handover
We agree the delivery, customer pickup, return and Digger2Hire collection timing with you when the hire is confirmed. Where practical, arrangements can be made outside normal business hours.
Before the machine is released, we complete the physical handover, sight your ID, go through the equipment and take payment. A hard-copy hire agreement is signed at handover.
