Clear answers before you hire
Excavator hire FAQs
If you are unsure about access, delivery, collection, timing or operating the machine, call or SMS us. After-hours calls are welcome.
What is included in the $250 daily rate?
The Kubota U17-3, three buckets, ripper, Auger Torque X2000 drive unit, 300 mm and 450 mm augers and a hydraulic grabber where suitable for the confirmed hire.
Do you deliver the excavator?
Yes. Delivery and collection are available for $150 within approximately 20 km where applicable. Longer-distance delivery can be quoted individually.
Can I collect the machine myself?
Approved customer collection may be available by appointment from Morningside for Brisbane hires or Tweed Heads for Northern Rivers and Tweed hires. The tow vehicle, trailer and driver requirements depend on the confirmed machine and transport arrangement.
Do I need excavator experience?
No. We will run through the controls and safe operation at handover. Take it easy while you get familiar with the machine and call if you need practical clarification.
Will it fit through residential access?
The U17-3 retracts to 990 mm wide. Measure the narrowest actual path including gates, gate posts, walls, eaves, turns, slopes and ground conditions. Dimensions are guidance only and do not guarantee access.
When do I pay?
Payment is taken at delivery or collection after the hard-copy agreement is signed and the required ID and handover checks are complete.
Can I call outside normal business hours?
Yes. After-hours calls are welcome for current or upcoming hires. Brisbane customers deal directly with Frank and Northern Rivers and Tweed customers deal directly with Rick.
Do I have to return the machine before 4pm?
No standard 4pm depot return deadline applies. Your delivery, return or Digger2Hire collection time is agreed when the hire is confirmed. Where practical, after-hours arrangements can be made.
What if I need the machine longer than agreed?
Contact Frank or Rick before the agreed return or collection time. The confirmed hire period still applies. Extending that hire period may affect the total price, depending on the situation.
What should I do if there is a problem with the machine during the hire?
If the machine develops a warning, fault or unexpected problem, stop using it where it is safe to do so and contact Frank or Rick before continuing. Do not attempt repairs or keep operating a machine that may be unsafe or causing damage.
