Straightforward excavator dry hire with direct service from the people who run the business.
Digger2Hire is an owner-operated equipment hire business run by Frank and Rick. Brisbane customers deal directly with Frank while Northern Rivers and Tweed customers deal directly with Rick. When you call or SMS us you are speaking with the person arranging your machine, attachments, handover, delivery or collection.
After-hours calls are welcome. We also arrange delivery, return and collection times directly with customers rather than working around fixed standard depot opening hours.
The business has been built around a simple idea: make compact excavator hire clear, practical and easy to organise without unnecessary complexity.

Digger2Hire equipment
Our excavator fleet
Digger2Hire operates a growing range of excavators for jobs from genuinely tight residential access through to larger excavation work. Machine availability varies by location, but the fleet gives customers a sensible step between access, digging capability and job size.
Across Digger2Hire: our current hire fleet ranges from the narrow-access K008-3 micro excavator through to the 5.5T Yanmar ViO55-6B. Choose your location to see which machines are available for your job.
Brisbane: the brand-new Kubota U17-3 is our primary Brisbane hire machine. For worthwhile mid-term and longer-term hires, 0.9T and 2.5T machines may also be available. Contact Frank with your dates and job requirements.
Northern Rivers & Tweed: Rick’s current hire fleet includes the K008-3 0.9T micro excavator, U17-3 1.7T mini excavator, U25-3 2.5T excavator and ViO55-6B 5.5T excavator.
Kubota K008-3 0.9T Micro Excavator
The specialist tight-access machine. Its undercarriage retracts to approximately 700 mm wide when getting through the access is the first challenge.
Kubota U17-3 1.7T Mini Excavator
Digger2Hire’s flagship and most popular all-rounder: compact enough for many residential jobs with useful digging capability and a comprehensive attachment package.
Kubota U25-3 2.5T Excavator
The natural step up when the job needs more digging depth, reach and productivity. Its approximately 1.5 m width and zero-tail-swing design keep it relatively compact for its capability.
Yanmar ViO55-6B 5.5T Excavator
The largest machine in the current hire fleet, for more substantial excavation where site access and working room allow a machine approximately 2 metres wide.
Straightforward from first contact
Tell us what you need to do, where the job is and when you need the excavator. We confirm suitability, availability, attachments, delivery or collection and the total hire price before handover.
At handover we complete the required checks, go through the machine and attachments, complete the hire agreement and take payment before the equipment is released.
After-hours calls are welcome before, during or at the end of your hire. Delivery, return and collection times are arranged directly with you with flexibility where practical.
