Kubota U25-3 2.5T excavator hire
The natural step up when a 1.7T mini excavator will do the job, but more digging depth, reach and capability will make it easier. The U25-3 combines a 1.5 m overall width with zero-tail-swing design and a maximum digging depth of about 2.81 m.
Dry hire is $350 per day from Digger2Hire Northern Rivers & Tweed, including the same useful bucket, ripper, auger and hydraulic rock grabber package supplied with our U17-3, plus a sleeper grab.

Specifications are based on Kubota’s published Australian-market U25-3 series data and are a guide only. Machine configuration, attachments, ground conditions and site access can affect suitability for a particular job.
More capability without jumping to a large excavator
The U25-3 suits jobs where the access is wide enough for a 1.5 m machine and the extra reach and digging depth are worth having. It is a practical size for larger residential earthworks, drainage, trenching, footings, landscaping, retaining-wall preparation and site work where a 1.7T excavator may be slower or short on reach.
The zero-tail-swing design keeps the rear of the machine compact while slewing, which is useful around buildings, fences and other obstacles. It does not remove the need to allow safe working clearance around the machine.
When to choose the U25-3 over the U17-3
The Kubota U17-3 mini excavator remains the better fit for many residential jobs because it is narrower and easier to move through restricted access. The U25-3 earns its place when the site can accommodate 1.5 m width and the job benefits from about 2.81 m digging depth and 4.67 m ground-level reach.
If access is much tighter again, the Kubota K008-3 micro excavator retracts to approximately 700 mm wide and is the specialist narrow-access option in the Northern Rivers fleet.

The $350 daily rate includes the confirmed U25-3 attachment package. There are no separate daily hire charges for the included attachments. You can choose the tool that suits each part of the job rather than pricing the excavator and common attachments separately.
Check the access before you book
The U25-3 is approximately 1,500 mm wide, so it is not a narrow-gate machine. Measure the complete route to the work area, including gate posts, walls, turns, eaves, slopes and any point where the ground narrows the usable path.
If 1.5 m access is marginal, do not assume it will fit. Send your measurements and job details to your local Digger2Hire operator and we can compare the U25-3 with the U17-3 or K008-3 before confirming the hire.

Delivery available across Northern Rivers & Tweed
Delivery and collection are available for $150 within approximately 20 km where applicable, with longer distances quoted individually. Delivery is the usual option where practical. Approved customer collection from Tweed Heads is available by appointment when the driver, tow vehicle and electric brake controller meet the requirements.
